Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 13, 2026

Labbayk is built privacy-first. We collect the minimum information needed to run the app, store almost everything on your phone, and never sell, share, or rent your data to third parties. This page explains exactly what happens to information when you use Labbayk on iOS, Android, or the web.

What we store on your device

Everything you do inside the app is stored locally on your phone, in your own browser or app storage. This includes:

  • Your name (if you entered one during onboarding)
  • Your madhhab, type of pilgrimage, and itinerary preferences
  • Your daily, weekly, and monthly goals plus completion check-marks
  • Your Qur'an reading bookmark and font-size preferences
  • Your favorite duas and personal notes
  • Cached prayer times, weather, and last-known coordinates

None of this data is uploaded to any server. If you delete the app or clear its storage from your phone, the data is gone — there is no cloud backup. You can also wipe all this data at any time from Settings → Reset.

What we never collect

  • Your email address (we never ask for one)
  • Your phone number, passport, visa, or identity documents
  • Your contacts, photos, microphone, or camera
  • Any account credentials — there is no account system

Location

Labbayk asks permission to use your device's location for two purposes only: computing accurate prayer times for wherever you are, and showing the Qibla direction from your current position to the Kaaba. Your coordinates are used on-device to compute these values and are never transmitted to any server we control. You can deny or revoke location access at any time in iOS Settings → Labbayk → Location.

Motion & compass

The Qibla compass uses your phone's magnetometer (compass sensor) to show which direction the Kaaba is from where you are facing. Sensor readings are processed entirely on-device. They are not stored or transmitted.

Notifications

Labbayk schedules local notifications on your device (city arrival reminders, daily itinerary summaries, daily goals nudges). These are scheduled locally by iOS — Labbayk does not run any push-notification server, and no third party is involved in their delivery. You can turn notifications off entirely at any time from Settings → Notifications inside the app or from iOS Settings → Notifications → Labbayk.

Third-party services we read from

To make the app useful in real-time, Labbayk fetches information from a handful of public APIs. We do not send these services any personally identifying information. Specifically:

  • Open-Meteo — for weather forecasts at your coordinates. No API key, no account. Terms.
  • BigDataCloud — for reverse-geocoding your coordinates into a city name. Free client-side API; we send only the latitude and longitude, never anything else. Terms.
  • AlQuran.cloud / Islamic Network CDN — for streaming Mishary Rashid Alafasy recitation audio when you tap Listen on a du'a that has a recording. We send only the request for an audio file. Terms.
  • FormSubmit.co — only if you send feedback via the in-app feedback form. Your message is forwarded to the Labbayk developer's email. You can also use WhatsApp instead if you prefer.

Analytics

Labbayk uses anonymous, aggregate analytics on the web version only (Cloudflare Web Analytics, page-view counts, approximate country, browser type). The native iOS app does not include analytics at this time. No cookies, no fingerprinting, no third-party tracking pixels.

Children

Labbayk is appropriate for all ages and is rated 4+. It does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, regardless of age.

Changes to this policy

If we ever change how Labbayk handles data, we will update this page and update the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will also be announced inside the app.
