Labbayk is developed and published by DormyBin, LLC ("we", "us"). It is built privacy-first. We collect the minimum information needed to run the app, store almost everything on your phone, and never sell, share, or rent your data to third parties. This page explains exactly what happens to information when you use Labbayk on iOS, Android, or the web.
Everything you do inside the app is stored locally on your phone, in your own browser or app storage. This includes:
None of this data is uploaded to any server (the only exception is the optional Groups feature, below). If you delete the app or clear its storage from your phone, the data is gone — there is no cloud backup. You can also wipe all this data at any time from Settings → Reset.
Labbayk asks permission to use your device's location for two purposes only: computing accurate prayer times for wherever you are, and showing the Qibla direction from your current position to the Kaaba. Your coordinates are used on-device to compute these values and are never transmitted to any server we control. You can deny or revoke location access at any time in iOS Settings → Labbayk → Location.
If you choose to set a "Near a place" goal reminder, Labbayk asks for "Always" location access so your phone can remind you when you arrive at that place (for example, your local masjid), even while the app is closed. The place's coordinates are stored only on your device and monitored by your phone's operating system; Labbayk does not track your movements, keep a location history, or send your location anywhere. Removing the reminder stops the monitoring. This is optional — every other feature works with "While Using" access or none at all.
If you create or join a Hajj/Umrah group, Labbayk sends what you post in that group — messages, voice notes, du'as, meeting points, locations you choose to share, SOS alerts and roll-call check-ins — plus your group display name and (only if you add it) your phone number, through our group server (Cloudflare) to the other members. All of that is end-to-end encrypted on your device with a key that exists only in your group's invite link and on members' phones; our server stores it only in encrypted form and cannot read it. To deliver messages, the server does see technical details: random member IDs, your role (leader/assistant/member), when messages were sent, their type (e.g. text, voice, SOS), your device platform, and a push-notification token if you enable notifications. There is no account, email or password.
Group content stays on the server while the group exists. Leaving a group removes your membership and profile; a leader can delete the whole group, which erases its messages and voice notes from the server. If you report a message, the reported content is sent to DormyBin, LLC so we can review it (within 24 hours) under the Groups community guidelines. Location is only shared when you tap "My location", pin a meeting point, check in as needing help, or send an SOS — never in the background.
The Qibla compass uses your phone's magnetometer (compass sensor) to show which direction the Kaaba is from where you are facing. Sensor readings are processed entirely on-device. They are not stored or transmitted.
Labbayk schedules local notifications on your device (city arrival reminders, daily itinerary summaries, daily goals nudges). These are scheduled locally on your device — Labbayk does not run any push-notification server, and no third party is involved in their delivery. You can turn notifications off entirely at any time from Settings → Notifications inside the app or from your device's system Settings.
To make the app useful in real-time, Labbayk fetches information from a handful of public APIs. We do not send these services any personally identifying information. Specifically:
The native iOS app does not send any analytics off your device. It keeps a small, anonymous count of feature usage and stability on the device itself to help the app work well; none of it is transmitted, and you can switch it off entirely in Settings → Privacy. No cookies, no fingerprinting, no advertising IDs, no third-party tracking.
If a future update ever enables sending aggregate data to help guide development, it will stay anonymous — tied only to a random on-device ID, never your name, email, Apple ID, or Google account — it will remain optional (on/off in Settings), and we will update this page and tell you inside the app first.
What is never collected, now or later: your prayer completion, journal entries, personal notes, the du'as you write, which verses you read, your name, email, phone, contacts, photos, precise location or location history, advertising IDs, or clipboard.
The web version additionally uses privacy-friendly Cloudflare Web Analytics (page-view counts, approximate country, browser type).
Labbayk is appropriate for all ages and is rated 4+. It does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, regardless of age.
If we ever change how Labbayk handles data, we will update this page and update the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will also be announced inside the app.
